Advisory: New Salem crash claims life of Hanover man

Dear Nixle User,

On Saturday, June 25th, 2016 at about 4:00pm, Richard E. Fissel of Hanover, PA suffered a medical event which caused him to run a stop sign at the Old Joseph Rd - Salem Road intersection, North Codorus Twp. As Fissel traveled through the intersection he was broad-sided by Samuel Hoke of Hanover, PA who was traveling west bound on Salem Road. Fissel died several days later from a combination of the medical event and his injures from the crash. Fissel, his passenger and Hoke were all transported to area hospitals following the crash.
