Advisory: The York County Police Officer of the Year is a member of the Southwestern Regional PD

Dear Nixle User,

On May 26, 2016, at a ceremony at the York County Administration Building, the York County Police Heritage Museum named Ofr. Bryn Lindenmuth as York County's Police Officer of the Year for 2015.

Ofr. Lindenmuth was raised in northeastern PA and moved to our area to attend, and later graduate, from York College of PA. He joined our department in 2005 and is a very active and involved officer.

In his 11 years of service, he has received 21 awards or commendations. Many of these are earned due to his tenacity to find a crime and then to find the person responsible for the crime. In 2015, some of his efforts are as follows:
> 16 DUI arrests,
> 45 criminal charges, and
> 350 traffic enforcement stops

In addition to these efforts, and as a testament to his willingness to serve others, he has taken on additional voluntary assignments as follows:
> He is a Drug Recognition Expert - He has a high level of training to know when someone exhibits the signs of being legally intoxicated due to legal and illegal drugs use. During the past year he has been called to respond to assist other departments 30 times in both York and Lancaster County.
> He is a member of the York County Drug Task Force - He is the department's liaison with this county agency and is also called out to assist on his off-duty time.
> He is specially trained as a rider on the department's off-road motorcycle - He is one of only a few officers that have the skills and the training for this assignment. Again, he can be called from home to assist in investigations when we need to search for missing persons or to locate crimes located in fields or wooded areas.

"The Southwestern Regional Police are proud to have an officer of Ofr. Lindenmuth's high character and tenacity to provide a stellar job to our residents." - Chief Greg Bean
